Frequently asked questions
Which meters does iMeter Reader support?
Electricity, gas, and hot and cold water. Electricity meters can be single-tariff, day/night or two-direction solar. Analog, digital and smart meters all work.
Does the app work without internet?
Yes. Meters, readings and contracts are stored on your device. You only need internet for the optional AI features and the optional cloud backup.
Are my photos or data sent to a server?
Only if you switch on an AI feature (photo reading, contract capture, assistant), and then to a processor in Germany (EU). If you sign in, your backup is stored on servers in Germany. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
Is my data used to train AI models?
No. Neither we nor any of our processors use your photos, files or content to train AI models. This is part of our Privacy Policy.
Is iMeter Reader free?
Yes. The app is free to download and use. The optional AI features have usage limits.
