This statement covers the website
https://imeterreader.appand the mobile app iMeter Reader (iOS, Android). It meets the requirements of the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG) of 16 July 2021 (in force since 28 June 2025).
§1 Scope
This statement covers:
- The public website
https://imeterreader.app(all language versions). - The mobile app iMeter Reader for iOS and Android.
§2 Legal basis
Accessibility requirements are based on:
- BFSG of 16 July 2021, in force since 28 June 2025.
- EU Directive 2019/882 (European Accessibility Act, EAA).
- BITV 2.0 (German Barrier-Free Information Technology Ordinance).
- EN 301 549 v3.2.1 (Accessibility requirements for ICT products and services).
Conformance target: EN 301 549 v3.2.1 + BITV 2.0 Level AA.
§3 Conformance status
iMeter Reader is currently partially conformant with BITV 2.0 / EN 301 549 Level AA.
Basis: Self-assessment dated 2026-05-27 (no external audit conducted).
§4 Known barriers
The following barriers are known and are being addressed:
Chart components lacking screen-reader labels — Several charts in the app do not yet have sufficient ARIA labels, making them only partially accessible to users of assistive technology. Planned fix: Q3 2026.
Arabic RTL rendering issues in charts — When the Arabic locale is active, chart axes and legends are not fully mirrored. Planned fix: Q3 2026.
Colour contrasts — Some secondary brand colours do not meet the WCAG 2.1 requirement of 4.5:1 for normal-size text (criterion 1.4.3). Planned fix: Q2 2026.
Accessibility traits missing on custom MAUI XAML controls — Some custom controls in the iOS/Android app are not yet annotated with
AutomationProperties.IsInAccessibleTree,AutomationProperties.Name, and related traits. Planned fix: Q3 2026.
§5 Methodology
The assessment was carried out by:
- Self-assessment pursuant to § 7 BFSG in conjunction with § 5 BFSGV.
- Tools used: axe DevTools (automated audit), NVDA (Windows screen reader), VoiceOver (iOS/macOS), TalkBack (Android).
- Test cases covered: keyboard navigation, screen-reader compatibility, colour contrast, text alternatives, form fields, focus management.

§8 Update cycle
This statement is reviewed and updated at least annually, following each internal or external assessment. An external audit is planned for 2027.
